Excellent for surface grinding of samples with a hardness between 150 HV and 1000 HV. Aka-Piatto 120/125 µm is the optimal choice for surface grinding of samples in sample holders, where high material removal is required. If you are preparing brittle samples such as ceramics, cermets and sintered carbides, the use of Aka-Piatto+ for surface grinding is recommended. The Aka-Piatto and Aka-Piatto+ diamond grinding discs are ready to use. They need to be dressed with a dressing stick from time to time depending on the material being prepared. This is done to ensure continuous and high material removal.
