SYSTEM FOR THIN SECTIONS

The system allows the creation of thin sections at the desired thinning thickness.
It is composed of:
• Variable speed cleaner LS2 or LS3V (0-150 rpm);
• Thinner: device with micrometric adjustment, for the direct grip of the sample or histological/petrographic slide by means of vacuum;
• vacuum bell for sample impregnation (necessary for friable and porous materials);
• single-stage or two-stage vacuum pump;
• diabase thousandths plan with comparator.
This system, allowing micrometric adjustment of the thickness to be removed, is useful both for obtaining samples with plano-parallel faces with a thickness defined within a few microns and for thinning a sample to the desired height for stratigraphic analysis.
